Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling

Today is our son's birthday! And Andrew & I wanted to take this opportunity to share our thoughts with you. Though our son won't be turning a year older this year and we won't see his sweet face, there is definitely a cause for celebration!


One year ago today, Andrew Lindsay Farmer was born into this world. A short time later (about 45 minutes) he was Heaven-bound. And our lives haven't been the same since.


We'll never forget the precious time we shared with him, both in my tummy and after his birth. Feeling his little kicks, seeing his face for the first time, kissing his soft skin, and saying goodbye. Unforgetable memories that will forever be etched into our hearts.


His life with us, though not long enough, was perfect. And today we would tell you that we'd do it all over again. Even the heart-wrenching pain, never-ending tears and empty arms don't outweigh the joy we have in our hearts. Because we are confident that only time separates from our son. We know that today while we celebrate his birthday, he is in the presence of Jesus. We trust and hold fast to God's Word and promises. And we are comforted that he and his grandma Denise are side by side.


In Psalm 138:8 it says that "the Lord will fulfill his purpose for me". We believe that to be true for our son. We may not know or understand the purpose on this side of Heaven but one glorious day it will be revealed.


God used the life of our son, Andrew Lindsay, to draw us near to Him. Through His Word, His body of believers, and in our quiet time with Him, God displayed His love, mercy, comfort and grace in indescribable ways.


And we trust that God used (and will still use) the life and death of our son to soften your heart and draw you closer to Himself. Just as He did us.



To our Lighthouse (The Anderson's, The Ganpat's, The Groen's, The Monahan's, The Parks', and The Rollings'):
Saying thank you would not even begin to describe our gratitude to you all. The prayers, the love, the support, the visits, the meals, the gifts (and we could go on and on) were a undeserved blessing. Thank you for showing Christ's love and compassion to two hurting hearts. Thank you for helping us carry the burden. We love you guys!


To my Mommies (with Hope):
Thank you for your transparency in sharing your stories. Your babies have blessed me and though I don't know them, I carry their little lives in my heart. I believe our children know each other and have bonded in a special way in Heaven.


To our Church Body (First Family Church):
Thank you for ministering to us with such compassion during one of the hardest times of our lives. Thank you for loving us like you've known us for years, making sure we knew that we were cared and prayed for. Thank you for guiding us to Scripture and to the feet of Jesus, for that's where we would find true comfort and peace on the hardest of days.


To our family:
Thank you most of all for weathering the storm with us. Thank you for physically being with us even though it wasn't easy to watch us grieve. Thank you for loving our son and making him a part of your life, even still today.


To our son, Andrew Lindsay, who we absolutely love and miss with all our hearts:
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
