My First Attempt

This is my first attempt at culturing yogurt. Piima yogurt to be exact. I bought the piima yogurt starter here and mixed it with Picket Fence Creamery milk in a 1/2 gallon mason jar. So it's been sitting on my counter since yesterday morning. I'm still waiting for it to thicken up (a total of 24-48 hours) and then it'll spend six hours in the fridge cooling. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not getting my hopes too high though because typically what I make rarely turns out. If all goes well, I'll use this first batch to make a larger second batch and then hopefully I'll be on to making homemade piima for years to come! Yeah.. we'll just have to see about that ;)
